We set out to make travel a way of life for anyone who wants to just go. That meant stripping away the excess to amp up the access. In the process, we created an entirely new category, fusing the style of high-end boutique hotel experiences with the accessibility of a budget hotel.
The Pod Concept
Perfection 12 years in the making.
12 years ago we saw a giant hole in the hotel industry — a need for clean, smart, affordable rooms geared to savvy “young-minded” travelers. So in 2007 we created our own niche, introducing the first successful micro hotel to New York City. As pioneers of the micro hotel concept, we’ve had years of experience and guest feedback to refine and perfect our design. With four hotels in NYC, one in Philadelphia, one in Washington DC, and another on the way in LA, we’ve shown this model makes money and is ready for growth.
Everything you need. Nothing you don’t.
We think an ounce of essentials is worth ten pounds of fluff. Stripping away the excess to amp up the access means we don’t rob guests with unnecessary extras like wasted space and overpriced minibars. What we do offer is all the amenities today’s smart traveler needs and wants — and the savings to experience all the things a city has to offer.
WiFi. Free and super fast.
Concierge and walking tours.
Daily Room Cleanings.
All standard amenities included.
Hair dryers are available in room, always.
Concierge for the People
Our Pod Concierge Teams are full of local insider knowledge. They’ll help you access the best attractions and events, recommend inexpensive—or free—activities, and maybe even get into a little trouble, but only if you let them come along.
Attracting a diverse community of smart, like-minded travelers.
Our price point and positioning appeals to a diverse array of travelers. Over 50% of our guests are over the age of 35, and with over 7 million page views on OTAs, and 1.7 million distinct website users in 2019, Pod Hotels welcomed guests from over 100 countries.
